On the third day after the 9/11 attacks, construction worker Frank Silecchia was walking through the rubble of Ground Zero and stumbled upon a site that brought him to tears: Two steel i-beams that had broken off and fell from the 67thfloor, landing perfectly upright in the shape of a cross. This find lead Ground Zero to earn the nickname "God's House." In this iconic image, the WTC Cross is shown in it's earliest of days prior to rust and time covering up the many names of fallen comrades scrawled into the steel by firefighter's and police officers.
