In the Spring of 2002, FDNY Firefighter Lee Ielpi cradles the recovered helmet of his fallen firefighter son. This image was part of a series called “The Band of Dads” - portraits by Gary Marlon Suson of FDNY firefighters who lost their sons, brothers and fathers on 9/11 at the World Trade Center and spent months digging together as a unit at Ground Zero.
